The Unintended Number
The night is going exactly how you intended and you are having an amazing conversation with a beautiful girl. At the end, it goes something along the lines of,“Hey beautiful, it was great meeting you tonight. Can I call you sometime?”
And she obliges with the digits. You text / call the next day and you get either:
a) A shitty half ass response that you are so shunned off upon that you just plain ol’ give up the notion of anything with her, or
b) No response whatsoever.
At least with part A you get something that you know you can work with, but frankly, we don’t wanna work- so it’s over. However with B, in the words of Peter Griffin, “This really grinds my gears!”
Truthfully, there is no exact answer to this question of why. Several reasons support legitimate pretenses.
1. The girl feels so insecure about herself, that on the drop of a dime she gives out her number to as many newcomers as possible in order to support a sense of self-worth. Once you call / text, she gives a pretentious, “OMG this annoying guy from the other night is calling me, ugh!” to her friends.
2. The girl has a boyfriend. This has two parts:
a) She is that much of a slut that she gave you her number, but now her boyfriend is suspicious and she needs to play it off.
b) Refer to reason 1, except this time she says “OMG babe I don’t know how this annoying guy got my number! Lindsay must have given him it!” This follows with an inadequate strong-arm approach from the boy-toy trying to get you to leave his girl alone, whom you already realized you want nothing to do with.
3. She is an evil, maniacal spawn of Lucifer. She simply gave you her number because she could see just how much you were into her. She wanted to lead you along, and make you suffer. Maybe you fucked her friend. Maybe you reminded her of someone. Someone bad. But now you will pay.
4. Your follow-up opener was just not good enough. “Hey baby, it’s me Bobby McGee from the other night,” just didn’t cut the cheese. Next time bring up a joke you guys had and re-enact it in a sense. “Hey Bobble’s, It’s me! Stunt-dick!” Always worked for me. She’ll get a hoot out of reminiscing over a funny joke you two had together.
5. Your closer simply did not close, and you lost her at goodbye. Next time instead of “Can I call you sometime?” Try with, “Hey how would you like to go to The Killers concert with me next week?” Or “Do you like sushi? I’m taking you to Koi next Tuesday.” Woman love to visualize things, and they love passive- aggressiveness. Let ‘em get a taste before they are actually there, and they’ll suck it down whole!
Anyway you look at this situation, a girl blowing YOU off is NOT King. It’s supposed to be the other way around.
Do not let this illegitimate situation get you down. Accept the facts that:
1. Not all women are created equal.
2. Nothing in life is a guarantee, and I mean NOTHING.
3. There is ALWAYS tomorrow.
