COACHELLA 2010 LINEUP ANNOUNCED!
Yes my fine-feathered friends, it’s that time of the year – COACHELLA!!
It’s Indio’s Pride and joy, and everything us West-Coast Hipster’s look forward to all year round. The 2010 Line-up was officially announced this morning, and I have to say, I got a little wet at first glance. Next to 2004, I can honestly say this is the best line-up we have yet to see.
MOST EXCITED ABOUT (In Order) - MUSE – WILL OWN, Hot Chip – WILL MAKE YOU SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST, Julian Casablancas without The Strokes – but who knows!?, Thom Yorke w/ FLEA, Miike Snow – Will take the Underdog Award, Phoenix – Makes everyone Happy, MGMT – Indie Rokkers, Passion Pit – Time To FLy, The XX – Love at First Sound, The Dead Weather – JACK WHITE, Vampire Weekend – FUN, The Temper Trap – The Band of Horses Award, Florence and the Machine – Punch Drunk Love, Faith No More – REUNION, P.I.L. – WILL RISE!, White Rabbits – Will Blow You Away, Tokyo Police Club – Rocks, Deadmau5, David Guetta, LCD Soundsystem, Tiesto, Rusko, Kaskade, Benny Benassi
BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENTS – Jay-Z and Gorillaz headlining. Never, ever would I ever want to hear “Jigga My Nigga” nor “Big Pimpin’” at Coachella. And Gorillaz do not deserve to headline. No Ghostland Observatory to once again slay the Sahara makes me sad – Who will it be this year?? ALSO, the Bowie and Daft Punk Rumors didn’t follow through!
HAPPY THAT – Lady Gaga and The Beastie Boys didn’t make the lineup!
VERY INTERESTED TO SEE – Sly and the Family Stone even tho Sly is one rail away from the grave and can barely blink his eyes.
HEAVILY RUMORED ADDITIONS THAT WILL MAKE ME SPLOOGE ALL OVER THE WALLS – The Arcade Fire, Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Neon Indian, and Empire of the Sun.
In closing, I would definitely recommend doing it right. Get a room at The Riviera in Palm Springs, and take the shuttles over to the festival every day. Unless you are a dirty hippy who wants to be around more dirty hippies in the camp-grounds, spend the couple extra-dollars and rage with the Elite. The Music Loves Fashion party thrown by L.A.’s top promoters is surely something you do not want to miss!
