Clearly the world is a different place than it was sixty years ago, and so should be your mindset. Yes, it was suitable in 1950 to simply “Be the Man of the house” and bring home the bread while your wife sits at home and watches the kids, but nowadays household responsibilities are blind to gender.No longer is it only the woman that heads the kitchen, and now more than ever is it more than acceptable, if not sometimes expected, that the male is the chef of the household. If you look at pop-culture today with all of our cooking based T.V. shows and publicized chefs, you will see they are 60% male helmed. Gordon Ramsey (Hell’s Kitchen), Jose Andres, Anthony Bourdain, Emril John Lagasse, and Wolfgang Puck can easily be recognized as some of the greatest chefs in the world. In fact, it is the popularized women chefs who are subject to the most ridicule these days. Look at Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee to name a few.
